Hilly Westphalia […] seizes the attention of every traveller by reason of the thoroughly picturesque beauty of its position in the green-forested valley\u00a0of an important and historically remarkable mountain range. The little province [Hochstift Paderborn<\/a>] to which it belonged was in those\u00a0days one of those hidden away corners of the earth\u00a0without factories and\u00a0commerce, without military roads, where a strange face still caused a sensation\u00a0and a journey of thirty leagues\u00a0gave even the more prominent person in his\u00a0district an aura of an intrepid explorer \u2013 in short,\u00a0a spot like which there were so\u00a0many others in Germany, with all the faults and virtues, all the originality and\u00a0narrow-mindedness that thrive only under such circumstances.<\/div>\n

On my camino road again! #FinisEuropae<\/a>\u00a0& #Wanderlust: I made another 90 km of total 3,000 km to Santiago de Compostela<\/a>! I started from H\u00f6xter at the Weser river to my home city Paderborn<\/a>, crossing hilly Westphalia and the Egge Hills-Teutoburg Forest Nature Park<\/a>. It is an old region full of green hills and many baroque Catholic churches – and most important: many villages from my childhood where a big part of my ancestors spent all their famer’s life. My first day lead me to Brakel where I stayed in a monastery<\/a>. On my way I will do a small detour to that village\u00a0Anne von Droste-H\u00fclshoff<\/a>\u00a0the first time heard of the “The Jews\u2019 Beech <\/em>Thriller”.<\/p>\n
